4 Insane Wedding Moments You Won't Believe Happened in Vancouver

As a Vancouver wedding DJ, I've seen it all - the good, the bad, and the downright crazy. In fact, some of the most memorable moments from weddings I've DJed have been the craziest ones. So, without further ado, here are the top 4 craziest wedding moments I've witnessed.

Bridal Elevator Trapped: The Unexpected Showstopper

It's the bride's big day - the day she's been dreaming of since she was a little girl. And what happens? She gets stuck in the elevator! As soon as the doors opened, the bride stepped inside, and the doors promptly closed, trapping her inside. Panic set in as we realized what had happened. The bride's father tried to pry the doors open, but it was no use. The elevator had malfunctioned, and there was no way to open it.

Meanwhile, the music was still playing, and the guests were waiting at the ceremony location for the bride to make her entrance. I could see the groom getting more and more nervous with each passing moment. He didn't know what was happening, and he was worried that the love of his life had changed her mind.

As a wedding DJ, I knew that I had to think quickly. I had to keep the guests entertained while we tried to free the bride from the elevator. So, I played some more music to keep the guests' spirits up and gave some positive hand signals to the groom.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we managed to free the bride from the elevator. She emerged, flustered but determined to make her grand entrance. And so, the doors opened, and the bride made her way down the aisle to the sound of her favorite song.

The guests erupted into cheers and applause as the bride and groom were finally reunited. It was a beautiful moment, and I knew that I had played a small part in making it happen. Despite the initial setback, the wedding was a huge success, and everyone had a great time.

Wedding Cake War: When Guests Take Things Too Far

One of the craziest moments I ever witnessed was when a bridesmaid, who had a little too much to drink, decided to start a food fight with the wedding cake. It was a beautiful, fancy cake that no one else had even touched yet, and the bride and groom were devastated to see it ruined.

The incident happened toward the end of the night, after the open bar had been flowing for hours. The bridesmaid was clearly intoxicated, and stumbling around. As the night went on, she got more and more reckless, and at one point, she grabbed a handful of cake and threw it at one of the groomsmen.

The bride and groom were in shock as they watched their beautiful cake disintegrate before their eyes. I did my best to keep the party going, but the mood had shifted, and the guests were no longer in a celebratory mood and the reception ended shortly after.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of having an open bar at a wedding. While it's certainly fun to let loose and celebrate, it's important to remember to drink responsibly and not let the party get out of control. It's also a reminder that as a wedding vendor, I have to be prepared for anything and everything. Even if it means cleaning up cake off the dance floor.

The Never-Ending Recorder Performance

Ah, the infamous recorder. You know, that little plastic instrument that every elementary school student learns how to play? Well, at one wedding I DJed, the bride and groom decided to have their young nieces and nephews play a recorder performance during the reception. It was a cute idea, but what they didn't anticipate was just how long it would take. The kids just kept playing and playing, and it seemed like it would never end. It was both painful and endearing to watch, and when they finally finished, there was a huge round of applause and a collective sigh of relief.

A Groom Behind Schedule

On the day of the wedding, the groom was supposed to arrive at the ceremony site well in advance of the start time. However, he ended up being almost an hour late due to a major miscommunication. He had been given the wrong hotel name by one of the groomsmen, and he had driven all the way across Vancouver to the wrong location.

As the start time for the ceremony approached, the bride and guests were getting increasingly worried. Meanwhile, the groom was frantically driving around the city trying to find the right location. By the time he finally arrived, he had missed the original start time and the ceremony had to be delayed.

The bride was understandably upset and anxious, and the guests were left waiting for what felt like forever. The wedding coordinators and I, as the wedding DJ, did our best to keep the guests entertained and occupied while we waited for the groom to arrive.

Finally, the groom made it to the ceremony site, and the wedding could finally proceed. While it was a stressful and chaotic start to the wedding day, everyone was relieved that the groom had made it and that the wedding could continue as planned.

This experience serves as a reminder of the importance of clear communication and organization leading up to the big day. It's crucial for everyone involved in the wedding planning process to be on the same page and to have a solid understanding of the timeline and logistics. The groom's late arrival was a moment that no one in attendance will soon forget, but thankfully, it didn't overshadow the rest of the wedding day.

So, what's the takeaway from all of these crazy wedding moments? Well, for one thing, they highlight the importance of having a good DJ. As a Vancouver wedding DJ, I've seen it all and I know how to handle unexpected situations with grace and professionalism. Whether it's a delayed reception or a food fight with the cake, I'm able to adapt and keep the party going. And when things get serious, like walking in on drug use, I know how to handle
